Israel's Attack on Rafah Tent Camp Widely Condemned
At Least 40 Palestinians Killed in Airstrike
Israeli forces launched an airstrike on a tent camp in Rafah, Gaza, on Sunday, killing at least 40 Palestinians and injuring dozens more. The attack led to a massive fire which Palestinian Civil Defence teams managed to extinguish after about 45 minutes.
Condemnation from the International Community
The attack has been widely condemned by the international community, with Qatar calling it a "grave violation" of international law. The United Nations has called for an independent investigation into the incident.
Eyewitness Accounts
Bilal al-Sapti, a construction worker in Rafah, said he saw charred bodies in the wreckage of the camp in the Tal as Sultan area. "It was a horrific scene," he said. "I've never seen anything like it."
